Just got back from a lunch ride. Just 3 of us, AbueloBill, Rider Ron and myself. We went to a brewery in downtown Phoenix called Mother's Brunch Brewery. After lunch we sat a bit longer at the table and Ron showed us his Run For The Wall pictures. He took us through each day of the journey giving us great descriptions of what he saw and experienced. He is going get some of those pictures up on the forum soon so that the members can also enjoy them.

On my way home I stopped by AP Cycles and More (an HDBitchin Supporting Vendor). I needed a spot lamp for the Electra Glide. Andre had one in stock and I changed it in the parking lot while Andre torqued my heel/toe shifter which needed to be a bit more secure than it was. Thanks Andre!

Hey, I'm still on the north side of dirt.
Really wish I had the coin for e-mail subscriptions......
any ways, my cycle shell is on it's way, I literally can't wait for it to get here.....I'm gonna call the dest terminal when it's enroute.....pick it up Friday night or Monday night......one of the 2......supposed to get it shipped to my terminal (by the competition), but I'd rather get it in my truck as soon as possible.

Seventeen days until we head out on our summer road trip.
If you are like me a couple of nights before departure I can't sleep. Just like a kid anticipating a summer vacation.

On another note, I just finished replacing the kitchen faucet tonight. I did a good job but you wouldn't want to pay me by the hour.  ;)  Getting my fat ass under the sink ain't easy!  :o  The wife is happy and I am sore from working under the sink.  ^-^

I dunno if this is the right place to put this, but as this is a coffee shop, then idle chit chit(read bolox) seems to me to be the order of the day.
I've been thinking about getting a second bike, basically for the English winter, but it will also enable me to take the sportie offa the road should I feel the need.
A mate of mine has a 78/9 suzi gs1000-not stock, that he's looking to off load as he's just bought a new Harley.
Wide glide front end-fat bob tanks-drag pipes-JMC swing arm and drag bars atop big risers.
He's asking £800, I'm guessing that's between $1000-1100.
Anybody have any thoughts-prose and cons etc...?

TD,
I bought a second bike myself about 3 and a half years ago. The bike that I added was the 1995 Heritage that is mentioned in my profile. It has allowed me to slow down the accumulation of miles on my Electra Glide. I ride all year round since I live in the Phoenix metro area. Since I really don't think I might ever buy another bike new again I started to think that a second bike would allow me to slow down the aging of my Electa Glide. I love the way my EG is and wanted it to last longer. Having a second bike allows me to split miles between the two motorcycles. It also gives me the ability to take one bike down for maintenance and still have one to always ride.

As far as the choice of bike that you are considering, the Suzuki GS 1000 is a solid bike from what I know.

Well I'd love another Harley, but funds won't lead me in that direction unfortunately.
I've had three gs 550's and one gs thou over the years and I've always found them to be very ridable and usable bikes. The thou that I had was quite a dog, but still cool for 120!
I'm hoping that this one will be just the ticket.
