@IBE

  I wonder, did you mean to say, "Tail of the Dragon"?
On this forum, I got a lot of hits, many of them relevant, at the other side of this link:  HDBitchin', Search Results for Tail of the Dragon

Riding the Dragons Tail is something to do on the way to some other great roads in N. Carolina but I enjoyed hanging out in the parking lot at the Deals Gap store and bar checking out the bikes and talking to the riders. Its a good way to find out about some of the best roads to ride.

I have done it several times - a few on a bike and once in a car -

I found it to be a lot of work, and there are usually a lot of people on the road at vastly varying skill levels -

They did close the road to semi-tractor traffic - that was a lot of fun coming around a corner and seeing a semi in your lane coming around a tight corner.

Deal Gap is fun - decent food - but last time I was there it was getting more carnival like.

I personally liked the Cherahola Skyway ride, more relaxed and good scenery.

Lot's of great roads in that area, and down here in southern Tennessee as well!

Following are some pictures I uploaded into the HDBitchin.com Gallery (thanks for hosting for us, @HDBitchin )
