The 2018 Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge gets going today.

http://www.hokaheychallenge.com/pages/2018.html

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hoka_Hey_Motorcycle_Challenge

If you read the linked Wikipedia article you will see that drama and controversy has been associated with the Hoka Hey in the past.

Some of the problems...
Prize money issues
Charity’s not being paid (but names being used in the promotion of the event)
A rider died in one Challenge
Lie detector was used in the process of determining the winner the first year.
Several crashes

The event hasn’t run every year. The first year was 2010 and since that first time the challenge has run in 2011 and 2014 and now again in 2018.

Nearly 10,000 miles.

Without the assistance of electronic navigation aids
Sleeping beside your pony whenever and wherever your body demands
Only the highway and your own thoughts for company

Smoke em if you got em

Old School biker travel. The ride is done in honor of the way the Indians riding their horses would do.

Reading the Hoka Hey website I would have to correct my above comment about it not running every year. I made that statement based on the Wikipedia article. It would appear that they have had Challenges in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2016.

Pretty cool way of following the race. Thanks for posting that. I did a screen capture showing what was just now showing on the tracking. Open the below picture.
