An electric Harley Davidson? You be the judge!

What appears to be a possible electric Harley Davidson production bike was seen on the movie set of the new Avengers movie.

Rumor or fact? The above linked story raises some questions.

I guess we might have expected this would be next. They added water cooling to the Twin Cam this year and they have had for 10 plus years the Revolution motor in the V Rod and HD recently introduced the Street 500 and Street 750 with radiators. So an electric bike from Harley Davidson was next. Maybe they will go with a diesel engine next!

Some former engineers from Harley Davidson have actually done a diesel v-twin prototype. Here is a link to the story...

Either diesel or electric has potential.  Would like to see Harley going with either or both just to tell the competition (and the government) they could if they want to.  A shot across the bow, so to speak.

Can easily picture a Street electric for commuting and urban use, and a Road King diesel for the true distance rider.  8)  Would lose the Harley copywritten sound, but didn't the Revolution engine already do that?
Never attribute to conspiracy that which is adequately explained by incompetence.

I am surprised they are being that innovative, I like the look of it, it looks better then any of the other electric bikes out there.

Is the movie a spin-off of the 1960s show "The Avengers"? Never was much into British TV, but Miss Emma Peel slinking around sexy in her cat suit was true quality programming.  >:D

I remember the TV program. I can't remember watching it too much but I do remember it. The TV show was different than this move. The movie is based on a Marvel Comics series. Here is some background on the movie and the TV show.

I think an electric powered Harley would be a great addition to the Harley Davidson lineup. Harley seems to be innovating in recent years. Good for them.

Turn your volume up good when you watch the video. You won't hear an internal combustion engine in that short HD teaser video. You hear what an electric motor and the associated drive components for an electric motorized Harley Davidson would sound like.

They are changing what many people think about Harley Davidson. The new Motor Company (MOCO) is being shaped for the next century. The Electric MOCO.  :)

OK, when I read Avengers I automatically thought Miss Peel. Never watched the show either unless Emma was on the screen. Interest in watching disappeared as soon as she left it.  >:D
