ty tank,
I just found out about Tom Laughlin.
Loved the Billy Jack movies......The wardrobe,hat,jeep.....everything.
Had a good 2 days, much to my surprise.....might even start liking werk again.....My Dad was a Big Zig Ziglar fan. We all got copies of "See You at the Top" for Christmas one year. He lived in Greeley so like a couple of years after he passed I was cleaning my detached garage you know the rafters where you stick the stuff your sure the Kids will want someday. So I see one of those Samsonite suitcases that I don't remember. Most of us here will know the suit case I'm talking about because everyone had the same ones. Inside was about 30 positive thinking books that my Dad had snuck up there.
Anyway Zig would say "You know how to spell Luck?" "W O R K" or in your case W E R K! That was a good surprise my Dad left me.
The words Work or Werk are not in my vocabulary. I'll have to look them up some day.Dave, You are one of the luckiest guys I know so you must work at something, or you know who would have not put up with it. O0

I'm on a aspirin regemine , just to feel normal........getting old blows.....
well I'm trying to refurbish the side rails to the pool table...(mainly just the felt).....doing one rail at a time......taking my time......seems like the mfg process used 1/4 inch square dowels to hold the felt........gonna try an reuse it, but they are glued in with spray adhesive.
A small amount of laquer thinner or gunwash will soften the adhesive and you can easily pull the dowels out. The residue from the solvent will evaporate.thanks.....i had some wd 40 handy........sprayed it in the cap an brushed it on.....werked like a charm. 1 down 5 to go,....may tackle 2 more tonight iffen i don't get called in to real werk, lol.

"Dude I Want That" touts themselves as "A Geek's Gift Guide to Gadgets, Gear and Novelties". They further explain their site as quoted below...
it's that ''geek'' description that steers me away....I'm a biker poser first type a guy.....
I'll check it out,.....I was just waiting for a 2nd....lol
oh btw.....where 's the off switch for all the snow?!
Raining here in Phoenix. We are getting the system that was in California. The entire State is getting some good soaking rain. After it leaves it should have left enough rain to allow the fire season to be a bit more tolerable.
The thermometer says 6* this morning, after today it's supposed to get warmer.sounds like your just a tad south from me, I'm in connecticut.......pretty close to the same forecast and conditions.......one of the reasons I like my truck.........I can hit railway ties and the tires/ wheels will be fine.......dunno bout the alignment...lol.
I sure hope the weather people get it right, 50 by Sat. still will not be able to ride though too much salt on the roads.
Our youngest daughter hit a pot hole and wrecked a wheel and tire on her car, that's another reason for leaving the bike in the garage, those creaters in the roads!
Enough whining for now.
Had to go into the combat zone [aka Philadelphia] this morning, traffic was gridlocked, a wreck on I95.Hey where does That highway 95.....run out of ben salem, if ya take it north?.....thats not the nj turnpike, and I didn't see an exit/entrance on the turn pike for it??
At least the sun is out, a fairly nice day around mid 30's.
I really hate going there.
Hey where does That highway 95.....run out of ben salem, if ya take it north?.....thats not the nj turnpike, and I didn't see an exit/entrance on the turn pike for it??If you are north bound on I95 from Bensalem it goes to the Scudder Falls bridge at Yardley, Pa., once you cross into NJ the hwy. becomes I295 S and circumvents Trenton. I295 connects with I195E which connects to the NJ tpk that is I95N at that point. The NJ tpk is Jersey's version of a NASCAR track that's open to the public!
gonna be a long wait......
We got 176.8 miles in today. Along the Arkansas river for the most part. Lots of sand and a few areas where water was creeping crossed the road. Felt great.Lucky you, try not to rub it in to much.
TGIF !!
Let the weekend begin! ^-^
The weekend began ten years ago when I retired, everyday is a Saturday or Sunday.
Feel bad for those of you still in the rat race.

Yo. Looks like I've got some catching up to do. Weather turned nice toward the end of March here. I've been busier than a bitch-wolf sucklin' 12 pups.Looks like you are good for business Crusty. I just noticed that we had 148 members log on today. A new record. I know it is not many to an established forum but I think it is fun to note the stages of growth. I personally have no doubt HDB will make it big in time. Especially if keep finding superior training videos. O0

I originally made this as a bumper sticker. I resized it (smaller), but for some reason SMF didn't like the new version. I figured you'd resize it for me. :)

Webbtron,
Where is that picture taken at?
We need a full ride report (and possibly pictures) after the ride. ;) Ride safe and enjoy!not much too report......ran the bike for errands....mower needed parts....smelled gas at every stop....not good , but it has a fuel pump ....so it doesn't leak when off.....least I know where it 's coming from............been awhile since I had the wind in my face....took my breath away....literally,lol.
Webbtron,Around 7 miles north of Belle Fourche SD and then west/NW 7 miles of dirt road. It might be a bit farther on the dirt road as it is like 35mph if you are on a touring bike. There is a tiny Blue Sign but we had a young buck that saw it after I missed it. A lot of folks have been to the City Park in Belle Fourche where they have the "proper" monument.
Where is that picture taken at?
...and how long ago? Monument's changed a little too! Where's the flag? Nice pic though! Thanks Webbtron! The flag is out there about 100 feet. The picture is from Sturgis 2012 Jesse had a stinking tri pod in his wide glide. He and his Dad are from Georgia.
Bet You Don't Get this Far!your right, I didn't....but it was still out an about......picked up a pair of tin snips so it wasn't a wasted trip :)

Sorry about your cousin, what struck me about the article was it mirrors my wife and I. Same age, same hobbies ...it is bad enough now my wife won't open the door far a stranger. I wonder if it was a home invasion? If you care to update later I'd be interested especially when they catch the guy. Again heartfelt sympathies.
After getting home I got a call from my dad telling me they had discovered a cousin of mine and his wife murdered in their home. Don't know any details yet. I hadn't seen him for about 20 years. We had kind of lost touch, you know how it goes. We weren't really that close but it was still a shame to hear.

I come from a large family full of DRs,lawyers, cops, scholars, and the like. Myself and one or two others became longhair, tattoo'd, harley riding, blacksheep. I'm no outlaw, never been to the pen or anything but I've spent several nights in jail for fighting, disturbing the peace, and general mild mischief. Our worlds were quite different. It was a shame what happened though, the world is a screwed up place at times, always has been, but only gets worse.doesn't sound sick to me.......must be a typo on your sig,....... :))
OK, now back to your regular scheduled programming. After having a cold front settled in here all week, today is sunny and they are calling for 80*.
Sorry about your cusan suckup...I hope the best for your wife also..Mat
I tried to get the brown off my nose, honest.. ;DTime to plan you next ride. Maybe a short feeling out day trip of 120 miles.
Thanks for the well wishes, all around. It's only been 24 hrs. and she says it's already feeling better than it had the last year.
time marches on......be nice to get back to the ho-hum again.Your right time moves on, but I'll tell you not to many days go by that I don't think of my Mom, she passed away 14 years ago.
Your right time moves on, but I'll tell you not to many days go by that I don't think of my Mom, she passed away 14 years ago.Very well said Dave. You just get this pang of remorse and seems to never end. Same with me. Since May 7th 1996 still there.
Funny how it affects you, don't think about it much when they are there, but when they pass it's different.
Very well said Dave. You just get this pang of remorse and seems to never end. Same with me. Since May 7th 1996 still there.
I guess we just assume they will always be there, I know I didn't pay enough attention when she was alive.Man you are tearing me up here. You been to my place you know we aren't Sunday china folks. About 6 weeks ago Debbie want to change stuff up so she swaps out one set of dishes for another.....don't ask me why? Guess who got those dishes for me? One of those pangs shows up.
Our boys are exactly the same, I have to call them and remind them if they cannot come around to at least call, especially on Mothers day.
I see the hurt when they don't!

Well I have to add something after that one Craig. As I have a similar thing.I'm A little slow on the uptake, but this is a nice conversation to have on the day before Mothers Day. I believe it is still the day the most calls are made in the US. In the old days I think the phone companies were in a "Please try again later" loop.
Both of my parents are long gone from this earth and I agree you never have a day that you don't think of them. Everyday things will remind you of them and there are some things that you keep that have no value to others but have special meaning to you because they were given to you by a parent.
Recently my wife was cleaning house and decided to toss out a pair of my slippers that for years were placed at the foot of our bed but had not been worn in years. They were given to me by my parents as a gift. My wife just got tired of vacuuming around them and forgot how they were brought into our world.
Rocket I hope your loss will heal soon. Here is to all parents living and gone. Mother's Day is coming up so don't miss a chance to tell the Mothers in your life how much they mean to you.
I'm A little slow on the uptake, but this is a nice conversation to have on the day before Mothers Day. I believe it is still the day the most calls are made in the US. In the old days I think the phone companies were in a "Please try again later" loop.Yeah, it is a good discussion......I had that little tickle in the back of the throat, (ya just know it will get worse).......well it did, first good day for ridingand I'm sidelined with chest congestion and a cough.........ya just can't win.....

[/quote Hope you feel better and sorry guys about my post last night...I may have had some beer....Happy mothers Day to our moms....I do miss mine..
Sorry Craig, did not mean to get so emotional, hang in there Buddy.Just a 90's kind of guy still trying to get in touch with by inner self.. O0..winter weather advisory thru tonight. There's going to be some bikers in the mountains that will have a story to tell after Tuesday.
One of my earliest memories. Eastern Colorado farm house to get to the bathroom you go through the kitchen, well I'm 5ish and headed my usual path around the table, but this time something dark like poop piled on the floor. I go around and go around on the way back too. Not to much later Mom goes in and turns on the light ...we all here this JACK!!!....she' had that tone where you don't hesitate you just get going. Dad killed the baby rattlesnake with his boot and fixed the screen door the next day. She was first generation from the Ukraine, so it goes.
welp it would of been a great day for a ride.........this time the the body had other ideas.....wound up with a cough I couldn't shake, FML!Hope you get feeling better..Mabe a beer might help.. :)
feeling much better today, might even take a ride
A ride is always good medicine.I concur! had a little 50 mile jaunt.........was great; bike acted normal; had a chance to look at some nature.......all in all a good time between shifts.
Just finished my chores and got my merry maids costume off, now I free to play the rest of the day. Hmmmm what should I do?.Hmmmm....Let me guess... :)..Ride safe and enjoy..

I take it that you didn't having the winning hand in the poker run? :-\naw, I suck at poker.....I spent the 20; had a meal...and a t-shirt....I was good when I left.......never did the run, spent the day in the stealership...lookin' for a new ride....which didn't happen, still worth the 20 I spent.
And no pictures? :))
I only actuall participated on a few poker runs.....usually just pay the fine, er the fee and stay put; waiting on the dinner an such. good tunes , you know, the usual biker grub.
Well we went to good old COLO Hwy 9. Bought poppys at this rest area just before going across South Park. Waved 3 metrics by me blasting at about 90 maybe faster. So I was able to let them run interference for us. Anyway caught up to them at the turn south just before Hartzel. and we all headed south. This time we just enjoyed the view of the buffalo and such. 15 miles later an oncoming car blinks at us so I figure it was CHP laying the weeds. Nope it was one of my Metrics in the ditch. That Kid was bouncing off the walls from tumbling into the ditch. Seemed ok but it was really hard to get the kid to take a breath. Kid said he was going into that turn at 90 with bad bad tires. Which I had to open my mouth about. Bike looked fine blew sand out of the pipe when they started it all the levers were straight. But I admit I had a feeling that that kid was not going to enjoy waking up this morning. They were happy we stopped and wondered why nobody else did, not that there are that many cars out the on a good day. Told them you got to stop it is the biker creed.
Tolg my neighbor I'd throw 2 k at him for his vulcan...........prolly won't bite.

Cool, they seem to be a decent bike. There is a guy that rides with us that rides a Vulcan.I don't know anything about them myself but his runs good and doesn't give him any trouble. It would be a cheap alternative cruiser.........my bimmer isn't quite the same animal as what I consider what a cruiser should be. ie;rk,heritage...

Every night three maybe four are shot and a couple killed in Philly, most are innocent bystanders that get caught in the crossfire.
Cannot understand why we can't get the rules changed so these wackos can't get their hands on guns to wreak their havock.
I haven't heard anything about the cause of death yet, don't know if guns was even involved. From what I can tell it looks like it happened pretty close to where my camp was.Our tents was about 50 yds or so from the area they keep showing. I certainly didn't hear any gun shots that I recall.
They haven't released any names yet, I hope it wasn't anyone I know.Since it was local I knew quite a few people there.
It is unfortunate and sad that two people are dead no matter how it happened.
In other news, Dang getting old sucks. After camping a few days now we have rain moving in and I woke up this morning almost too sore to get out of bed. I don't bounce back like I used to.
Ah yep, been there myself. I camp as well and have notice that last few times I have a camping hangover of the joints and muscles. Getting old sucks, I agree. :oI think you guys had a pea under your mattress, that can be a problem. ;D

I always thought it was those old fashioned bottle caps they put under there. There is a lost art ...well maybe not but I don't see it much anymore. People that can "flip" those bottle caps. Never could do it my self, but some of those guys could really shoot those caps hard and a long way.
That is why I stay at a motel nowadays.
Anyway I am finding the golden years ain't so golden!
had a long trip last night.......12 hours in a truck not my idea of fun......
on a bright note, poker run tomorrow......me and the C.M.R.A.....(I'm a lifetime member), are gonna do a pack ride to the event.......I don't like pack rides, try an avoid them to be honest.
Almost time of a cold one!
Rode the Arkansas River to Salida to Buena Vista then back to the Springs. 222 miles first day with bare arms so guess they will be sore for a day. I know you guys in the midwest and east have real rivers but the Arkansas was about at peak runoff. As high as we have seen it. The Pic is at the river park in Salida. the kayakers were out in force.
lost a dew rag yesterday.....eh, it was an old one anyways..........had a good time at the poker run......best part was waiting for me at home, well next door ,at home,.lol.Mat....Hay rocket....Ive lost some dew rags myself.. :)...Glad you had a great day as did I...Back to work today.. ;)

On The Way TO Cape MayRide safe Dave. I found the song on YouTube.
Heading there today for lobsters with my nephew and his girl friend, it's about a hundred mile ride each way.
For those of you not from the Philly area, the song is a summertime staple played on a local radio station every Friday morning for the weekend pilgrimage to the Jersey shore.
Enjoy the day one and all!

How you like your hotdogs? I boil mine.
little butter an olive oil.....simmer for a bit, then throw in a half can of beer......cook for a nutter 5-10 minutes........butter a roll and toast that..........either this, or throw 'em on the grill........ :DYou no ...That sounds good.....I usually just cook them on the grill but your idea may be something to try.. :)
there's a greasy spoon that does 'em that way......sorta, but they use a flat top an the dogs are soaking in a brothy bath of butter an beer. They then toss 'em on the flat top..........I prefer my way, gets more into the dog I think.........juicy ,tasty dogs, for sure...I might try your recipe, substituting Geritol for beer. ;D
The best dogs are at the ball park, I don't know how long they cook them but man are they good and they are boiled.Well I found Cape May on the atlas. Lots of roads to choose from. But you are as far as you can go, unless they have a ferry. Looks really nice.
BTW the ride and the lobsters were great!
Darn....All this talk about great ways to cook them is making me hungry for the darn things.. :)..I'm not much of a cook like you guys but I love to eat.. :)
It's taken me awhile, but, I have managed to take my eyes off rockets avi to post this.....Ya...I been here a bit and still having trouble with it myself... :)..
Thought you should know.
Ferrous
you would think my avi would bag me some karma.........tit's run dry lately..... O:-)...Done

A woman brought a very limp duck into a veterinary surgeon. As she laid her pet on the table, the vet pulled out his stethoscope and listened to the bird's chest.
...
The vet shrugged, "I'm sorry. If you had just taken my word for it, the bill would have been $20, but with the lab report and the cat scan, it's now $150."
Speaking of Mess Hall, I'd sure like to know they made the chipped beef for the stale bread. "S.O.S." naw, there was nothing S**tty about it. That stuff was GOOD.I always liked SOS! Good stuff. ;)
Getting time for beer now. Coffee was a long time ago. LOL
I'll be out an about tomorrow, thank the christ.
You make it sound like you just served jail time.

I get the Softail back from my Indie today. New tires, rear rotor and new belt.Nice, I bet you notice the difference. Did I miss what caused the electronic issue?
I get the Softail back from my Indie today. New tires, rear rotor and new belt.
Nice, I bet you notice the difference. Did I miss what caused the electronic issue?Yes with two new tires and the fork oil changed it should make her ride smooth. ;) Then add the new belt and rear rotor and that should take me many more miles. As far as the the electrical issue, I don't have exact details but I was told there was a shorted wire on the ignition circuit. I will know more when I pick her up after work.
Glad you are getting the bike back, I saw in your post in road trips that you also got a large bill.
That's the problem with recreational vehicles they are black holes for money.
Had some real excitement last night, an hour before dusk. I was out in the backyard and noticed I had some Hostas putting on blooms. Well I have some more on the North side of the house so I head to the gate wave at my neighbor who is deaf. He has the cokeular implants but never wears them out to smoke his cigars so I just give him a wave and head to the hostas.
I hear this get down on the ground MF and MF this and I'm at the corner of the house now seeing 2 dark blue Crown Vics and Dodge pu parked the wrong way on my very busy street and a white car of some model with the basic black tires and rims no hub caps. Well funny thing about seeing guns drawn you just go right back behind the corner of my brick house.
I use the standard pose to alert my neighbor that guns are out and run inside to play Gladys Krantse. They have the 2 guys cuffed now and are searching for illegal things on their person
Anyway they let the one guy go and take the other guys stuff with him, then they give the guy a smoke and even light it for him, cause he can't use his hands. After the cigarette is smoked they load him up and head for jail. Got the old juices flowing, I'm sure the guy is innocent.
kinda makes me happy after reading that......I live in a ''nice'' neighborhood..................... :-\
Really won't matter what the neighborhood is like. Use to have a police officer living next door to me and his comment was the crooks got wheels and they will go to the good neighborhood because those neighborhoods have better stuff to steal. ;)Good thing he found the crack. Sounds like a good shop. What fork oil did you decide on?
On another note, I got my Heritage back today! New white wall tires, new drive belt, new rear brake rotor, fork oil changed, brakes bleed (front and rear), new wheel bearings and etc. Also as was noted during this visit to the indie the handlebars are cracked at the riser clamp so I ordered some fatter apes as a replacement. Instead of 1 inch I went with 1.25 inch as a replacement. Have a set of Chubby Outlawz Apes (made by Wild 1s) on order.
Good thing he found the crack. Sounds like a good shop. What fork oil did you decide on?
Yes it is a good shop. He is very good at his craft. For the fork oil I went with what he uses and stocks which was Drag Specialties Fork Oil Heavy (20 weight).
The Indie shop near me only carries the Drag Specialties, but I could not find any info on it so I did not use it, let us know about the ride. The short ride home was very smooth. The street my Indie is on is in the "old town" section of Glendale and it has a few brick crosswalks and it few rough areas of road that need repair. The ride seems to be better than previous. I have more controlled dampening than before. The final test was my driveway's curb at home that I transition regularly. I know how it feels to roll up that curb and I was surprised at the more solid ride that was felt at that transition. I am going out for a short ride this morning and should have a better idea later today but my initial feeling is I think I have a better ride than before.
Glad you will be back on the road again.
I am going out for a short ride this morning and should have a better idea later today but my initial feeling is I think I have a better ride than before.
Just got back from a short ride of about 50 miles on the Heritage and I am pleased with the fork oil. I would recommend this Drag Specialties Heavy Fork Oil (20 weight) at this point. I rode a very rough section of road that used to vibrate the my teeth and much to my surprise it was very smooth. Nothing like I remember it being in the past. I bought this bike used two years ago so I don't know what was in it previously but I like what I have in it now.You had a lot changed on that bike. I can imagine you'd spend that whole 50 miles getting reacquainted. I think we had a thread about getting 100 miles on the tires. Then there are the white walls :) Just kidding. I like the look but don't miss cleaning the things.
Had some real excitement last night, an hour before dusk. I was out in the backyard and noticed I had some Hostas putting on blooms.which reminds me , so do I. I have a hostas that is growing really well an full! it has several blooms poking thru, do you trim these at all? I have no idea how too maintain a healthy hostas, I transplanted this one from the backyard too the corner of the house a few years ago.....it really took off this year.......incidently I got tired of mowing it when it was in the back yard, lol.....tough plant species, glad it's a perenial. :))
Being that my bike is way over twenty years old..........I snuck in red atf fluid in my forks.....she never knew the difference , rides good, and makes spotting a leak easy......talk about old school....Marvel Mystery Oil is red. I bet it would work.

So we just let them do what they do. But mowing is a form of pruning. I reckon.

I like the look but don't miss cleaning the things.Cleaning white wall tires in Phoenix is probably not required as much since we get very little bad weather. With the lack of rain the bike stays pretty clean. When they do require the occassional cleaning I use Westley's Bleche-White tire cleaner.

When they do require the occassional cleaning I use Westley's Bleche-White tire cleaner.I have the same cleaner. I'm on my second rear tire so I might have to change the front soon. That's what drives whether I go back to either thin or wide white. Or black, cause it does change the look. Then again I'm cheap. Lol
As far as the look I think with certain bikes wide white walls are almost a required look IMO. This Heritage has a two tone paint job so the white walls are really part of the look. On my Electra Glide I like the black wall look. My Electra Glide is a Standard model and the Standard came with black wall tires. I like that look. Street Glides and Road Glides come with black wall tires and IMO that looks good. I remember my old Road King had the thin white wall tires.
My wife doesn't like cut flowers. So we just let them do what they do. But mowing is a form of pruning. I reckon.we will take your wife's lead on this, seeing as my better half doesn't give a fuk....,lol.
Glad to hear you finally got the ride back!

I have the wide white walls on the RK I think they make the look. As for the Westleys Bleach white, if you have stock spokes be careful to keep it off the spokes after a while it reacts with the anodized coating and will dull them down. Thanks for the tip. I actually am very careful not to get it on the rims or spokes. As powerful as it cleans the tire I would bet it could peel paint. :-\
Hard to believe that 2014 is half over today. :-\
30 bucks is good!!I'm gonna stay right here, in the living room with the a/c on.........an thats that!!
I'm gonna stay right here, in the living room with the a/c on.........an thats that!!
Don't know where our dew point is today, but humidity is real high and 90 degrees. Sticky like cheap pancake syrup around here.
108 degrees here today. >:D
Just got the Electra Glide back with a new rear tire and new rear brake rotor. $$[/co :)
What is the humidity 15/20%, 108 is hot but if you add 80% humidity it would be stifling, kind of like it is here.Yes the humidity is around 20% during the March thru June timeframe. The rest of the year it is slightly higher but nothing like you experience. Our monsoon season is just getting started and the humidity can range from 30% to 50% without any real rain. This time of year the humidity can be as high as 50% which coupled along with 100 degree temps makes for an uncomfortable time. Later in the fall the temps will obviuosly drop and humidity might stay around 40% but with the lower temps it is no factor. During the monsoon season the higher humidity isn't a numerical value that gets noticed by most folks as being a high number by comparison to other areas but when you get 110 degrees with 40% humidity you will feel it. >:D
I just put on new front and rear tires and a rear brake rotor on the Electra Glide, built a tire changer and did it myself, saved a hundred bucks.
We topped out at 94* and 82% humidity, like you sticky pancake syrup. Pouring down rain right now.
Happy 4th everybody, neighbor has a kawasaki vulcan 4 sale.....2500.00......pretty much japans comedic try at a road king......but still a good ''road'' bike.Happy 4th!! I work with someone that rides a Vulcan. Nice bike IMO. He loves it and rides it regularly.
I was too late....by the time I got the joint cleaned up.....besides I 'm selling,Good looking bike. It should sell fast.

Luckily my brother is a lawyer and he ran the legal stuff for the family. Hope things work out for the best Dave.

As I said in a earlier post a crack was found in my handlebars at the riser clamp area. For replacement I went with some Wild 1 Chubby Outlawz 12 inch apes and their chubby 4.5 inch riser. Being called "chubby" means that these bars and risers are 1-¼" thick. The wires are now also routed inside the bars which wasn't the case before (I bought the bike used two years ago). I kept the dimensions all close so that cables would stay the same as before.Nice looking bars. With the wires run inside you now have a Fat and Clean look!
Here is the website for the bars I did.

Attached are two pictures of the end result. I like them. ^-^

Well I can't say guy is innocent or not..There seems to be some individuals who looks innocent but they have done the crime intentionally..Yep I agree. It was kind of a nod to the fact that everyone in the klink is innocent. When you have unmarked crown vics following you around you made the big time.

Three weeks away has left me with plenty of yard work to catch up on, man can those weeds grow....Great you had a good time.. Stinks about your wifes knee..Hope she feels better soon..
I also get to do all the house work, the wife has a really bad knee and can hardly walk.
But the trip was worth it!

The doc told her yesterday she will need a knee replacement, he will not give her any more cordizone shoots, she is not happy!...Sorry to here that...A friend of mine had it done and is very happy with the results..Stinks that it will lay her up for a while and you will have lots to do..

The first day out on our trip the drive belt broke on US340 just north of the Skyline Drive. Thanks to the folks at Winchester H-D we got back on the road that afternoon, these guys went out of their way to help, even loaned me their truck to go get the belt at another dealer. Many thanks to WinchestercH-D.

I too have a friend that had a knee replacement. He is able to do everything now without pain.

My cuz had hers replaced last Oct. she still cannot walk, that what has the wife worried. Have to check out all the hospitals and surgons to see which has the highest success rate.
My landlord has a replacement knee on one leg, a replacement hip on the other. He won't use his motorized chair like they tell him to. He's had to have both re-replaced during the decade I've rented from him. He's going in for his 3rd knee later this month. According to what he's told me, the replacement have a limited use before they wear out. Less they get used the longer they last, to a point. The more, the less time.
The doc says seven years is the average.

jeeesh, thats not long at all..........But it's a long time to be in pain and barely be able to walk. I think I'd take the chance.

Monday is coming! I hope everyone had a great weekend!
the pain waking up was tough, rolling over even worse. But the pain has eased a bit from this morning.....really think I just got use to it. Pain is off to the right , above the back of the pelvis.so I doubt it's a slipped disc.......I've had this pain before 'bout the 5th mebbe 6th time in my life anyways. Heard it was one of the curses left over in our DNA from walking upright......who knows.
Probably more to do with age, getting old sucks! I never knew you could hurt in so many places after just laying in bed.

Went for a breakfast ride with AbueloBill, Rider Ron and Bob this morning. We departed from Carefree Hwy and I-17 for Rock Springs Cafe in the Black Canyon City area. Had good breakfast at the Cafe and then rode south on New River road to Cave Creek and stopped at the Cave Creek Coffee Company which has closed its door. Instead a bicycle shop and small restaurant are in that location.Lots of BLUE sky in those pictures! Must have been a nice morning ride.

It does not get any better than that!Indeed.
We love taking 96 out of Pueblo to have lunch in Silver Cliff / Westcliffe (they are 2 mining towns butted together that don’t make a town combined). Kind of Friday trip where there is almost no traffic and we can go as fast as we want. Mostly just putt. Those slow putts are the best rides IMO
The answer...Well said Bob!

Pikes Peak HD is giving away free burgers tomorrow. I'm trying to get Debbie to get all dolled up like the old days and we take the 77 Sportster up there. Dave I changed the Sportsters primary/tranny oil today.
Any time an H-D dealer is giving something for free, you need to be all over that. Hopefully Debbie will cooperate. There ain't no free lunch. Walt has a tip jar.
I am still hoping to get the '68 out of the garage one of these days.
ya only got 2 how hard can it be??LOL.

Holy kats. That must've been like riding two straight four bangers attached to one crank!no It's just a 4 cylinder, 1000 cc, driveshaft driven bike with plenty of get up an go......matter of fact too much , I keep checking my mirrors for the po-po everytime I twist the throttle.lol.

Looked liked it was an 8-cylinder horizontal opposed engine. I thought the cylinder bank in the image looked like it may have 4 cylinders. Sounds like it's still a rocket on rails though. No ''flying bricks'', are 4 cylinder sideways mounted motors, with the crank at your right foot and the head(s) at your left..........but your right on the power. :D
only 300 some odd miles......I could make a weekend out of it.........some year. And what about 6 states?
And what about 6 states?not counting CT, I have ny,nj,all of delaware.....length wise!,then across the line............but it's all of 300 miles.

Got home from OC Md. yesterday afternoon, had to come home to recover. We ate way to many steamed shrimp, clams and wings, all things that need to be washed down with a cold beer. The happy hour at the Crab Bag started at 11am and went to 7pm, plenty of time to indulge.Sounds like some good living! ^-^
Anyway it was a great time and we had good weather.
Beer, shrimp, clams and wings!! Heaven on earth 01rk!!I think that covers the major food groups! LOL

Thursday Night = Bike NightI am going to wander over to Westgate for Bike Night here on the West side of Phoenix tonight!!
Yeehaw!!
The Eagles tried desperately to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory but failed and are now 4-1!Not a good Sunday for my Cardinals. Our regular QB (Carson Palmer) is still on the injury list and Denver sidelined our second string QB (Drew Stanton) and it appears he may have suffered a concussion. Our third string QB (Logan Thomas) was very green. Then add the injury of Cardinals DE Calais Campbell that some think will put him out for several weeks.
The Eagles tried desperately to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory but failed and are now 4-1!oughta be a good game sunday night against my GIANTS!

I cannot understand why people drive hundreds of miles to see dead leaves. I have plenty of them in my yard and I am already tired of raking them up,Maybe you should advertise in a travel magazine and as a bonus tell them they can have a basket full of leaves for just $5 each! ;D ^-^

I'm off to do some shopping for santa.........sumbody has to do it, last I heard the fat bastard couldn't get off his ass cuz of his arthritis.....I avoid shopping at anytime during the year and especially around the holidays. TGIFWhat he said!! ^^^
So, let me run this by y'all; if I may,Sounds reasonable to me. I have had items like that delivered the very same way.
I make a delivery to house, I explain the delivery is a curb side delivery. Meaning the freight is laid in the yard next to the curb. I was polite and was told that would be fine, (by the wife)..........moments later while the freight is halfway off the truck, she comes out with the phone, and the husband (on the line) is bullshit. Yelling oscenities, telling me I was a half hour early and I was supposed to call in advance, then he tells me that he paid for the ''special'' delivery and that I was ''supposed'' to run the freight to the end of his driveway.......Let me explain a bit here, this is a wooden playground set weighs in at over a 1,000 lbs..and is on a 12 foot pallet. Meanwhile the husband tells the wife not to sign the freight receipt....(the freight is already off loaded). I explain ,to the wife That every delivery of these playgrounds are curb side and the parents take apart the pallet to the back yard for assembly, some families actually make a party out of it. Like a amish barn raising......after hearing this she signed the bill and I went on my way.
I scored big time last night, I walked thru sears to check out the clearance section, There in all it's glory was a tool box with 3 drawers loaded with a 180 piece set!! marked down from 229.99$ to 142.99$. Because of a ''broken'' drawer.... So I bought it, knowing full well that a dollar a pece tool set is a good buy, I brought it home and threw some pb blaster in the drawer runners.....Works like new!
Sounds like you are on a roll, first the entertainment center now the tool box, I would go buy some lottery tickets!
Good luck rocket! Beer is on you if the lotto pays out!Beer, did someone say beer??
I have some 12 year old Glenlivet that I can bring!
Well I do have bottle of Wild Turkey that I can bring to this party!
Not beer how about some home made kaluaWow! I think we have the makings of a Christmas party! ;D
Merry Christmas Eve everyone!
I need a vacation to recoup from my vacation.I'm still at the point where I need longer vacations.........paid of course.
Taking my jury summons to the Court House. Crap!Good luck!!
Taking my jury summons to the Court House. Crap!prolly to late now, but when I did this I was asked if I had any obligations that would hinder being a juror......(they were looking for vacation , other plans, stuff that would be a hinderance). I told them I was already under a court order for child support and that the court would hinder such order.......I was told have a nice day sir and thanks for stopping by...........that was 5 years ago.
Yes, back to the salt mine today. Work is a 4 letter word!
Jus passing by, g'nite all.pretty much what I'll be saying 'round this time during the week........3 rd shift gig starts again. shitty hours but easy werk.......somebody has to do it :icon_munching:
Work sucks!Retirement would be better but it sure beats unemployment!
Retirement would be better but it sure beats unemployment!would be nice to tie them together.
Damn it is already Thursday! Since coming back from holiday vacation this week has seemed to fly. That would seem to be a good thing as long as the weekend slows down. ;)
would be nice to tie them together.
Collected the waffle for a whole year the first year of retirement, have to know how to game the system! Can you just quit working? I'm in my 50's and to be quite honest I'd rather be retired now than in my 60's.......My heart may actually do this for me....going in for a check up tomorrow, last few days I had chest pains...minor in nature, but not something that I will ignore.

I feel fine, But at my age I wanna keep feeling fine........they say heart attacks in your Fitties are the hardest to survive. So I 'll see what the white coats say......might as well shave the chest hair, I already know whats coming.Focusing on heart attacks in your fifties ....that seems to be when I hear about the most of them. Of course that is also when you are likely to get shown the door at your job. It starts to get pretty cut throat as a guy starts to approach retirement. I know the guy that runs my company and he has assured me I can work until I'm 70. (inside joke)

Might get a chance to break the winter doldrums and ride this weekend supposed to go to 50*, hope the weather jerks get it right for a change.I will be pulling for ya!!
Spending more money on the house today. Heat Pump for the downstairs died. Waiting on the HVAC guys to do the install today. The install is done and from the inside of the house this is what controls the new system.
looks good LarryIt will not get much of a workout over the winter period but come summer a good system is critical when the outside temps run up into the triple digits everyday. >:D
And having the right to do what ever you want with out anyone saying ( don't do that ) is the greatest feeling in the world next to sex & riding motorcyclesoh I agree 100% no dawgs,cats,cookouts,fireworks....a big F.U.!! lol......I had a big time bon fire just the other month........didn't hear a peep!

good thing it's on a saturday....ol wants to hunker down with a pizza and wings.....
Looks like our luck has run out, just had three inches of snow followed by freezing rain and sleet, really tough to shovel, the snow blower would not blow it, now we are on the block for a foot of snow. This one is supposed to be a dry snow so the snow blower should work.Stay warm Dave! If a shovel is needed find a young kid that wants to make a buck and put him to work. We don't want ya hurt!
I sure hope so, if I have to shovel a foot of the stuff I'm toast.
I hate Winter!!It's got it's good points.......few, but good. they escape me at the moment.....
Been Snowing here all day, 20 degrees, the worst is yet to come! What is amazing is I live about twenty miles from Philly and they have had none.Time to move to Philly! ^-^

Sounds about as good as you could hope for. They make it sound like the end of the world anymore. I find myself tuning it out!TV weather forecasters are a funny bunch. They don't try to be funny but they end up that way. In Phoenix they get all kinds of excited when it is going to rain. Just like you said, they make it sound like the end of the world. :))

It's not very often I get my taxes done the same day my w2's showed up....but thats what I did last night,....2600.00 to the good, should be here in about 10 days........let the bike shopping begin!..ol says I need to pay off a loan first, or get back to full time werk.........both will happen hopefully 'round the same time i spy a deal at any of 4 hd dealers in our dinky state.Tax refund then Harley purchase... I like that plan!!!
Tax refund then Harley purchase... I like that plan!!!What I should do is put 10% down a bike now, and lock in the price and the bike ...then do the deal in the spring.
What I should do is put 10% down a bike now, and lock in the price and the bike ...then do the deal in the spring.
What mod and price range?price, under 6 k and a 3500 dollar trade in for my BMW. Camden is kinda far away I'm in New haven county CT.
Don't know where you are but check out Barb's H-D, Camden, NJ. Lots of used bikes!
price, under 6 k and a 3500 dollar trade in for my BMW. Camden is kinda far away I'm in New haven county CT.
That is a long way, thought maybe you were closer.
Anyway there is a large selection of used bikes there.
My cousin is looking at a '97 Heritage, the guy wants $4,500 for it, seems like a steal.
That is a long way, thought maybe you were closer.Just off the top of my head I would think that a 1997 Heritage would go for $7,500 to $8,000. That is a steal.

the more I think about that 92 fxrs....the more I think it's a scam.....dealer had it at 16 k on the odm,....now'it's at 6k on the odm......hmmmmm.Either way that is low mileage. But in reality it could be much higher than what is being printed in the advertizing or on the actual odometer when you do see it for yourself.
I'd like to see a guide or wear patterns pertaining to the cylinder wall(s)....I can pick up a digital camera on the cheap....Here is one from Harbor Freight Tools...
I hope mine gets here soon.........right now the hd dealer where the bike is is under 3 feet of snow......w/more on the way....just wanna get a deposite down, kinda don't with sights unseen thou......I should just bide my time a nutter bike will come down the pike, mebbe fuel injected :))
I have half a chance of werking on it .....right?
Just returned from a weekend of over indulgence on shrimp, clams, wings and beer, not necessarily in that order.thanks to this storm my weekend has been extended.......on my first beer........might just turn in an get some really good shut eye....
Damn it was a good time, to bad I have to come back to reality.
Nice thing about cyberspace. It cut a bunch of time off typical government refunds. Finally got all my tax documents in the mail so I guess I am ready for e-filing this coming weekend.
well , bad news first....the 92 was sold on the inside....owner to a close friend.........At least the pressure is off and I can still save some coin for the next rideToo bad but we both know there is another one out there waiting! :)
might have a 99 softail lined up.....under 5k .........time will tell.Good LUCK!
It's a balmy 9* here this am, the hi today will be about 24*. How come the weather jerks get it right when it is going to be cold, but when they forecast warmer temps it never seems to get where they say. Just wondering! That is one of life's mysteries. ;D
That is one of life's mysteries. ;DLike selling an entire country a worthless flu vaccine. And you get to keep your job
TGIF!!Ready for the weekend!!

10 degrees!! frigging heat wave compared to us!
It is a very balmy 4* degrees at my house this am with a -15* wind chill.I think his fur would make a good throw rug! >:D
I am thinking of some sort of torture befitting that worthless fur ball that wished this on us.
During weather like you are having staying indoors is a good thing I would think. Stay warm rocket!
More weather coming to the Northeast and Eastern States. When will it end?
Where is Al Gore and his global warming when we need him?!?I think someone left the door to Canada open again! ^-^

Heard that 27 States had temps of zero or below this past Friday. Stay warm my friends! We have been in the single digits each morning- Wed., Thr., Fri. and Sat. with hi's in the teens and 20 to 30 mph winds. Today was almost Sarah like at 29 degrees. Currently snowing!

Who ever it's worthy of, driving around here in Pa. is real challenge it is like an obstacle course. Hitting a hole can cost you plenty for new wheels and tires. Here are a couple of obstacle courses that look like the only path is a bad path!
Mondays suck! Here is one of the pics from the gallery that might help!
just for the record......all you teenagers filled with rage...don't fight a cop!...I knew better back then and I guess todays teens never got the memo......course we already knew you don't mess with an armed man. C:-)

You are right, they did not get the memo! Now days the bad guys have just as many guns as the cops and use them with deadly results.I had to do the math. That is a murder every 1.5 days. I can't believe that. Life is cheaper than I thought
A Philly cop was killed in a shoot out with two guys last Thursday.
The political correct crowd has made it really dangerous to be a cop in todays world.
Fortysix homicides so far this year in Philly.
I had to do the math. That is a murder every 1.5 days. I can't believe that. Life is cheaper than I thought
243 if you project it out.
I'm pretty happy no one's taking a bead on truckers or bikers yet...........Our world is a changed place. I don't like it.

Now that is the kind of Monday I need! ;)well it wasn't a hard decision....I missed the legislature dinner our club puts on, I'm not paid nearly enough,(yet)....and it was simply too nasty outside...windy and low 30's.......screw it.....I'm staying put. Cabin fever aint so bad.....
I have come to the conclusion that we live in an illiterate and color blind nation. People cannot read the stop, yield and speed limit signs and cannot see the color red.I've noticed they tend to group up together. So when I realize I'm in amongst that group I try and out run them. Does not matter what the posted signs say I romp on it at the first possible opening.
Here are a couple pictures of what I did on my Sunday afternoon. The Softail was due for an oil change. Is that a special AMSOIL version of Gatorade? ^-^
(https://hdbitchin.com/gallery/0/1-290315154036.jpeg)
Several quarts of oil, oil filter and Gatorade are required. ;)

Nice shelter rocket!Proof will be told when the first nor'ester hits it...then I'll believe, but thanks 'til then.
That is one big cactus! Too bad you lost it.She was big one. Losing it has made me realize that I need to trim a couple of others I have before something similar happens. :o
Living in Phoenix, AZ many of us don't grow grass lawns as they take too much water so cactus and rock is what we have. Cactus need very little care and very little water.Good thing you weren't standing near that cactus when it went down. Sorry to see a big cactus like that hit the ground.
Earlier today I heard a big thump and when I went into the yard to see what the noise was this is what I saw. The two pictures are taken about 20 minutes apart. I thought maybe what you see in the first picture is what I was going to end up with but as I said 20 minutes later the second picture shows the complete thing went down.
Way to go Tank household!
Congratulations
Congratulations to the new Nurse!
I miss the weekend already! Happy Monday to everyone. Hope you have a good week.
Primary election day in Pa., only about 35% turn out to vote, what a disgrace.I gather this was a polls election. ?
I gather this was a polls election. ?
We are totally mail-in, but not without its own disappointments.
Ya, still have to go to the polls in Pa.We do get like 65% turnout.
In our ward only 220 out of 1,600 voted.
Getting off of work early today and going fire up the Fatboy for an afternoon ride!Ride safe and have fun!
Left Phoenix this morning on a business trip to Atlanta. If you have been watching the weather these past few days you know Texas got hammered with rain that caused flooding. Well that rain event moved over the Atlanta airport just around the time I was due to land today. The storm was so bad that we diverted to Charlotte along with numerous other aircraft. We refueled and spent 2 hours waiting on the ground for the weather to clear up in Atlanta. Is there any other way? ^-^
Man I hate traveling unless it is done on a Harley Davidson. :)
Good day to be a Harley Davidson rider in Phoenix!! 8)

Just finished opening up and closing the outer fairing on the Electra Glide. Last Friday on the way to work the Sirrius/XM died when I rode over a bump. I have a Biketronics Retro Radio kit with a Sony radio that has a satellite radio module. Over last 7 years the plug to the module has come loose twice before. This is the third time. Another repositioned tie-wrap and I am probably good for another 2 years plus. What's your favorite station?
Ready to roll with tunes for the Monday morning commute!
What's your favorite station?Classic Vinyl, Classic Rewind and Deep Tracks (in that order). What I like is all 3 are right next each other and my right thumb can easily be used to push the thumb switch up or down. ^-^
Hope everyone's Monday was great!Mine was good, I had Classic Vinyl to listen to today! The Heritage gets the commute job tomorrow so the tune is HD Evolution! ^-^

Wow it is hard to believe that we are now in the month of September! This year is going quickly IMO.It does seem that as I get older the years fly past much faster.

Time to go for a ride. At least that makes me feel better for a little while.
where the hell is Friday?!I heard tell it will make an appearance tomorrow ^-^
yeah, being broke helps......course hearing the washing machine stop means back to the grind..........could be worse, could be ankle deep in a mountain stream ,with one hand full of clothes and the other full of rocks.....least that's how I think they did it......Yeah I can see it now.
Yeah I can see it now.lets not forget tea bagging the stream for the cavemen down stream...........( I need mental help for posting this)

No werk fer me today..........gunna et to the laundry and practice pool later....not much else to do.I had this Friday off as well. Just got back from a run up north to Jerome AZ for lunch. It was kind of a last minute thing as the group I was riding with was going on further after lunch to Show Low AZ for the night. On Saturday they will ride back to Phoenix via the Salt River Canyon then thru Miami/Globe and back into town. I wasn't able to do the second part of the ride. So back to Phoenix I rode after lunch was done.
The water line is broke about 4 houses down the street. The city is out there now with heavy equipment digging up the road. They dug one hole already and missed the area that is broken. They are working on hole 2 now! They delivered a 24 pack of bottled water to each house in the area. I thought that was nice of them. Here are a few pictures of the water fun in the neighborhood. We have water again!
I think your jaw would be aching from the big ass grin on your face! I wish there were photos.
Don't know about any big ass grins but, know why I'm deaf in the right ear, those drag pipes are really loud. That's why I always got the side of the road the ditch is on. My friend couldn't stand my pipes (Turn Outs). Those days we were side by side.
That's the sweet sound of success! Man I love that sound, nothing like the Sportster sound.
TGIF!! 8) ^-^Come on weekend!
Monday just about gone! But we still have Monday Night Football to look forward to tonight!Go Cardinals!!

Had a few earthquakes north of Phoenix last night. Some folks felt them in the city. I didn't feel a thing. One of my dogs did act a bit strange. We did lose power at the house last night for about two hours. Not sure why.I have heard that dogs and other animals have a sense about weather and other earth events.

late night check in.....Good evening
TGIF
Went to the local Harley dealership today (Arrowhead HD). They had the Harley-Davidson factory demo truck in the parking lot. Lots of folks were there waiting their turn to ride a 2016 bike.
My purpose for visiting the dealership was to finally spend a $30 HD gift card that I received from my family on my last birthday. Well as you might know there won't be much to choose from with a $30 budget. So for $54 I found a shirt I liked enough to buy. Harley fashion is costly!!
So for $54 I found a shirt I liked enough to buy. Harley fashion is costly!!I can easily believe that. Anything decent is going to run you high dollars.
Often wonder why people drive hundreds of miles to look at leaves.Ha ha! Me and my neighbors here in the desert would probably be in that drive hundreds of miles group. We have no trees that drop their leaves here in the Sonoran Desert. :))
Thousands on my front lawn, sick of them.
waken is on Thursday....I'll try and make that......with my colors.Terrible news Rocket. Sorry for your loss. I didn't care for the tone in the article either. How about a little respect.
they are all ''matter of fact '' up here.....sad to say but I'm use to it.........no such thing as courtesy up here neither, just speculating ,but a little of both might have saved her life.
Sorry to hear of a rider and a friend losing her life.where this happened there is an on ramp making everyone merge to the left....she was prolly on that ramp coming from the town she lived in. To travel west you need to move over at least one lane......she went over 2 lanes and lost it somehow.
Something does not sound right with this, people don't just fall off their motorcycles.
Did I miss something?
Good morning all. Enjoying my coffee and reading the forum this morning.Just poured cup #2 myself. Enjoy!
Close call tonight on the way home from work.Glad that you are OK.
I was riding home from work with forum member Jimbo who works at the same company as I do. Jimbo and I were riding staggered with me in the lead. On a busy street with 3 lanes going in each direction I was surprised by a minivan that moved left into the center lane that I traveling in. The lady driving split between Jimbo and myself pushing me left. I was in the middle lane of the 3 lanes but it happened so fast that I could not check my left mirror to see if I could slide over to that left lane. The minivan was coming into my lane so quickly that all I could do was ride the white painted lane line and yell at the inattentive driver thru her cracked window. She finally heard either me or the noise the motorcycle was making, I don't know which.
Jimbo told me that I could have moved all the way into the left lane as there was space but to be truthful I didn't have time to look at the mirror so I just rode the white line.
Ride safe.

sounds like a classic mirror check but no blind spot check for the offending mini van driver. glad it worked out. keep safe...our riding season days are dwindling.I agree I was in her blind spot. That might explain why she missed seeing me but Jimbo was staggered behind me and I have a feeling she saw him and thought she would dart out in front of him but didn't expect a second bike leading his position in her blind spot. She split between us but didn't expect me to be in the same lane staggered left and ahead of Jimbo.
This work thing I have to do sure is getting in the way of my "me" time! :DI have the same problem! :))

52 years ago today we lost a true American, rip JFK..I remember that day. Sad day for sure.
I remember that day. Sad day for sure.
I was but a babe in arms at the time, but I've followed history over the years and Jack Kennedy is still well thought of around the world. He certainly is in this 20.I was in elementary school and we knew something was up when we saw all the teachers crying. We were released from school early and my parents told me the news.
Will the truth ever come out?

Football Sunday! Cards versus Bengals! Two good teams, it won't be an easy win. Go Cards!Sunday Night Football! It's game time! Go Cards!
looks like a nailbiter....I think so! It is a good game although.
well I won at pool tonight....and I have a few bengals in my fantasy football league...no money just bragging rights......pretty much locked up a win for me...hope the cardinals pull it out.It is going down to the last seconds.
that'll do it! :))I love it!
rack time for me....gonna be a few busy days 'fore I can relax....One of the things I like about living out in the western time zones is I can watch football all day without being half asleep at work the next day. :)

Wishing everyone and their family a Happy Thanksgiving.Back at ya Dave!
Have a great day.
Kind of a lazy day today. Going out to eat Italian tonight and walk thru the Glendale Glitters venue after eating.Just got back from Glendale Glitters. That place was packed! Being this was the first night and this is Thanksgiving weekend I think it was a place to be.
https://www.glendaleaz.com/glitters/
Put up Christmas lights yesterday, tree shopping today. Hard to get into the Christmas spirit when it's 60*.
The leftovers from Thanksgiving dinner are the best IMO.I broil the dark meet and skin otherwise it's sandwich city for the rest.
Suppose to get a low temp of 36 degrees (Fahrenheit) tonight here in Glendale, AZ. Going to be a chilly commute to work in the morning. :owe had a balmy November, I ain't complaining....doubt we will get a white christmass, Again. I ain't complaining.

We are at 33 this AM, the high today is supposed to be 41, back into the 50's the rest of the week. Don't have to worry about a chilly commute to work. What a lousy word, work. That work word won't be in my vocabulary for long! ;)
a rule for the coffee house , never shall the werd werk be correctly spelled!! this is your only warningSorry! It won't happen again! ^-^ ;D
I was just on fb....it's not always a happy place.....I ran l/h with a bunch of guys out of the east. We would all meet in Cleveland for a hotel stay, then drive our rigs back east. (after 10 hours rest). ( this was in 2012,) Come to find out one of those guys came down with ALS....it's a death sentence, He was fine in june 2015 and in 1 month's time restricted to a wheelchair. He is a good guy, and only 52.My thoughts and prayers for your friend.
We have had an increase in coyotes in our area. My wife had an encounter this morning with one in our yard. We have 3 small house dogs that we are now walking even in our fenced backyard when they go outside to relieve themselves.Time for some lead poisoning! AKA firepower!
The local news just happened to do a story on the evening news tonight warning about the increase of their population in my area (NW Phoenix metro area). This is one time I think the news isn't exaggerating the issue.
My thoughts and prayers for your friend.
TGIF!TGIF!
Getting ready this morning to ride over to AP Cycles for new tires on the Glide.

December 7th 1941, a date that will live in infamy. no longer any mention of this day in history in school.
Really sad!
Agreed 01rk! It's a shame! It is a shame. It is a history lesson to never forget.
According to the tv weather we are in for some 60+ degree days, I sure hope they are correct. Could get some serious riding time in.I hope that works out for you Dave! :)
The smell of morning coffee is in the air! ^-^I love the smell!
My Cards are the winners tonight but they are sure making me worry down to the last play of the game. :osaw the end...buncha dopes.....
Our male dog, Rocky, which we got from a rescue shelter about a year ago had eye surgery today. Poor guy. He is not comfortable and hates the cone of shame that he has to wear so he won't scratch his eye.I hope Rocky gets better soon!
Mid December and I was out riding in a tee shirt, go figure.I hope it lasts! :)
been rockin the green tea lately.....feeling 'bout half past dead.....finally coming out of yet another bout with a cold, flu, sick whatever.......I know the feeling somewhat. I had a cold all last week. Still have a bit of stuffiness.

If it's cold there , it's warm here and vice versa.....we'll be complaining 'bout the cold in a year or two at this time.....I hate it when someone leaves the door open and the heat leaves Phoenix! :))
In the mid 50's here again today. I'll take it, keeps the oil man away.We would be 51°, if you reversed the real temperatures numbers.
We would be 51°, if you reversed the real temperatures numbers. Please keep that real cold air up north in CO. ^-^ ;D

How about some eggnog with a spike! >:DI love eggnog! Maybe some bourbon or rum in it?
rum, definitely..Rum for sure!
Went by Dunkin Donuts this morning for a cup of coffee. IMO they make a good cup of coffee. Good start to the day!I also like their coffee over a Starbucks. A real value (and better taste) IMO is McDonalds coffee.
I truly think it kept you alert because it tasted so awful, lolThat might have been their Marketing plan! ^-^
Merry Christmas to everyone.
Hope everyone had a great Christmas!Back from Carlisle, beat the rain, had a great time at my ol's parents home.....plenty of cheer and grub to go around, spent most of the time sober!! Mary's dad got me 2 cases of ''mad elf '' holiday brew....2 of these beers will put you on your butt!
Look at the calendar!! It is Football Sunday!!Great game if you are a Cardinals fan like me! Cards 38 and Packers 8. Seattle is next!
My AZ Cardinals (12 - 2) will be playing the Packers (10 - 4) today. It is going to be a tough game. The Packers are on a roll having won their last 4 games now (I think). Go Cardinals!!
Seattle and Arizona is always a good game.
Just wish the cold front stayed to the north....pretty cold with a n/w wind
Just a couple days left to get it done in 2015!!ol has a friend from church,(elderly woman )invited over for s'ghetti and meatballs tomorrow.....just a few errands to do 'round the house . then it's back to doing nothing for vay cay. as fer new years....my dad said it best....just another day on the calendar.

Sorry Rocket. Hoping it is going to all work out for the best. I can't say that I really understand what you're up against but I get the need to work every day.
so anyways...I had the last week to r and r.....so I went over to the slave pit (werk). and looked at ''the sheet''. I thought I bid a normal werk schedule, ya know, get up, go there, get paid....that sort of thing, instead it's an ''ON CALL'' bullshit thing......kinda shit I was stuck on all last year.......pretty bummed.
