Here is a good article on proper positioning of the mirrors on your motorcycle.

Jokes / Biker vs Lion
« Last post by Rider Ron on February 23, 2019, 04:15:40 PM »
A Harley rider is riding by the zoo in Washington, DC when he sees a little girl leaning into the lion's cage.  Suddenly, the lion grabs her by the collar of her jacket and tries to pull her inside to slaughter her, under the eyes of her screaming parents.

The biker jumps off his Harley, runs to the cage and hits the lion square on the nose with a powerful punch.  Whimpering from the pain the lion jumps back letting go of the girl, and the biker brings the girl to her terrified parents, who thank him endlessly.

A reporter has watched the whole event.  The reporter, addressing the Harley rider says, 'Sir, this was the most gallant and bravest thing I've seen a man do in my whole life.'

The Harley rider replies, 'Why, it was nothing, really.  The lion was behind bars. I just saw this little kid in danger, and acted as I felt right.'

The reporter says, 'Well, I'll make sure this won't go unnoticed.  I'm a journalist, you know, and tomorrow's paper will have this story on the front page.  So, what do you do for a living, and what political affiliation do you have?'

The biker replies "I'm a U.S. Marine, and a Republican".

The journalist leaves.

The following morning the biker buys the paper to see if it indeed brings news of his actions, and reads, on the front page:

And THAT pretty much sums up the media's approach to the news these days.

Highly impressed, and thanks for posting the photo.

When I lived in Prescott as a kid a big deal snowstorm was when we had enough to stamp out a sled run before the snow melted. We never had anything like what you are experiencing.  It wasn't until I moved to Durango, CO, that I experienced snow like that, and it was up to me to shovel our way out to the street.

I was raised in Flagstaff, Az. so I have seen plenty of snow and shoveled plenty. I'm smarter now, I have a bad ass snow blower that clears a 28 inch path and throws the snow about 20 feet. My driveway is about 125 feet long and 12 feet wide plus parking area at the top.
General Motorcycle Technical Topics Forum / Re: Bubbled Master Cylinder Paint
« Last post by maniacmac on February 23, 2019, 10:45:50 AM »
Leaking brake fluid from the master cylinder is a common HD problem. The paint on my Street Glide master cylinder / brake lever mount point is bubbled and ugly. I'm pretty anal about my bike, and that irritates me to no end. Any ideas on covers or ways to fix the paint? What have you all done? Thanks!
The correct why to paint is to sand all paint off master cyl. Seal the master cyl with primer sealer for alum. If you don't seal it the metal brake fluid contaminants may be in the metal. Now it's ready for the finish paint. I would recommend removing the master cyl and powder coat it. You will have rebuild the cyl after it's powder coated. You can check with your local H D dealer and see if they any take off units you can buy at a low cost and just replace it.
